Report to: CR Manager Asia as part of Global CR team
Location: Burberry Hong Kong office based (Wanchai) with travel in the region.
Scope: Some flexibility depending on experience, skills, and capability.

PURPOSE

• Delivery of Burberry Ethical Trading Programme
• Support assurance of compliance with Burberry Ethical Trading Policy (ETI code), related local  laws and international social, health and safety, labor, and environmental standards in multiple factories within various sourcing cities and countries
• Assess factory understanding of ETP and provide training and information as necessary
• Partner with designated external/ internal business partners to ensure goods are manufactured in accordance to our Ethical Trading Policy and relevant local laws and to resolve risk concerns to drive improvement needs as necessary
• Support team in partnering with and realising expectations of external parties (non-governmental organizations (NGOs), investors, working groups) to drive CR initiatives
   

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
   • Drive capacity building and training program solutions for designated suppliers, through visiting, engaging, inspiring and training vendors and factories, training workers in confidential hotline service, studying and communicating training partner results, and supporting development and delivery of training sessions, etc.
   • Conduct announced and unannounced audits in factories.
   • Approximately 50%  China, Asia and/or international travel may be required
   • Book audits by 3rd parties as needed, review reports and followup, including invoice management and data entry as needed. Issue communications of non-compliance to Vendors and factories with requests and guidance for correction.
   • Support team assessment to detect and overcome any ethical risks
   • Contribute to team delivery of sustainable program and it’s improvement
      
2. Collaboration
   • Collaborate and engage with NGOs, stakeholders, industry groups, and other brands as appropriate/necessary under the direction of Manager.
   • Coordinate the factory assessments with IP and Risk Department.
   • Support team to research & benchmark industry programmes and understand stakeholder (including ETI partner) expectations to ensure relevance of approach
   • Develop and maintain key industry contacts to support collaboration

 · All other duties as assigned by Senior Officer, Manager, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus
  
• CSR and/or social/labour and/or environmental or health safety audit understanding
  
• Experience with(and/or interest in) factory operations, auditing, and remediation
  
• Written and verbal fluency in both English and Mandarin. Other Asian languages or Italian a plus
  
• High degree of proficiency with pc applications and/or reporting tools
  
• Analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• Sensitive to cultural differences country/region coverage.
  
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well with Burberry team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  
• Sense of urgency when business dictates the need
  
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  
• Ability to travel 30--70% of time.
